Description

Plectorhinchus schotaf reaches 60 cm. Sweetlips (Haemulidae) Western Indo-Pacific (Red Sea, Persian Gulf). Creamy white scattered with black dots, heavily striped face, fleshy lips. Heavy swimmer sheltered in caves by day. Nocturnal, invertebrate-small fish predator. Rocky-coral reefs 5-50 m. No threats = LC. Magnificent in night light, characteristic patterns.
