Description

Amphiprion perideraion reaches 10 cm. Small clownfish with pale pink to very pale orange body, a unique narrow white vertical band on neck (hence perideraion, collar), thin white dorsal band. Faithful host of Heteractis magnifica anemone. Lives from 3 to 38 m on coral reefs of central and western Indo-Pacific (Maldives, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Great Barrier). Iconic macro photo subject of clown-anemone symbiosis, soft colors contrasting with purple-violet anemone background.
