Description
Chromis viridis reaches 10 cm. Fusiform iridescent green-blue body, extraordinarily bright at certain light angles. Forms very large dense clouds above and within shallow branching Acropora and Pocillopora corals, taking shelter in the branches at the slightest threat. Indo-Pacific tropical, very common on healthy reefs. From 1 to 12 m. Iconic visual signature of thriving tropical reefs.
