Chromis atrilobata reaches 10 cm. Small endemic Eastern Pacific chromis (Pomacentridae). Elongated gray-blue metallic to brown body with very distinctive two black caudal lobes (hence atrilobata) and strongly forked tail. Lives in dense schools from 3 to 50 m above rocky drop-offs from Gulf of California to Peru. Planktivore. Eastern Pacific cousin of Chromis limbata (batch 10 Macaronesia). Iconic wide-angle photo subject for swirling schools above Sea of Cortez pinnacles.
