Description

Trisopterus luscus reaches 46 cm. Small gadid with a relatively short oval body, copper-pink marked with 4 to 5 diffuse brown vertical bands, yellow lateral line, long chin barbel. Forms dense compact schools around wrecks and on rocky drop-offs of the NE Atlantic, from Norway to the western Mediterranean. From 3 to 300 m. Iconic photo subject in Brittany and Cornwall with tight schools on wrecks.
