Distribution Mauritania to Cape Verde and Guinea. Lives in schools from 0 to 50 m on sand, seagrass and coastal rocky areas. Tropical cousin of numerous Mediterranean Diplodus (D. annularis batch 15, D. sargus, D. puntazzo batch 15). Local artisanal fishery. Discreet photo subject in coastal schools.
