Description

Pomacanthus navarchus reaches 28 cm. Majestic angelfish with deep royal blue body, large saddle-shaped yellow patch on flanks, white snout, yellow tail. Electric blue fin edges. Juveniles with white vertical stripes on blue-black. Lives from 3 to 40 m on coral reefs and caves of central Indo-Pacific to western Pacific (Philippines, Malaysia, Papua). Solitary or loose pair. Shy, cave and drop-off habitat. Highly sought-after photo subject.
