Description

Felimare fontandraui reaches 7 cm. Small Mediterranean nudibranch with distinctive vivid blue-purple mantle with two distinctive parallel longitudinal yellow-white bands, darker blue mantle edge, white pinnate gills, blue-purple rhinophores. Lives from 5 to 30 m on rocky bottoms and coralligenous of Mediterranean. Cousin of Felimare picta (already in base). Feeds on sponges. Sought-after macro photo subject for vivid contrasting colors and clean design. Signature species of Med nudi-spotting.
