Description

Scorpaena notata reaches 24 cm. The smallest Mediterranean scorpionfish, body red to pink and mottled, characterized by a large distinct black spot on the dorsal fin. Lives deeper, from 10 to 700 m. Ambush predator like all Scorpaena. Venomous dorsal spines, same precautions: do not touch, do not grab.
