Pterois radiata reaches 24 cm. Smaller and more discreet than P. volitans. Red-brown body with fine white vertical stripes, extremely long tapered translucent pectoral rays (hence radiata), two prominent white spots on the caudal peduncle. Very painful venomous dorsal spines like all Pterois. Nocturnal, more discreet than P. volitans. Indo-Pacific only. Never touch.
