Description

Pseudocaranx dentex reaches 122 cm and 18 kg. Silver body with golden yellow reflections, yellow longitudinal band, black operculum spot, yellow forked tail. Lives in huge schools from 0 to 238 m on slopes, pinnacles and shell sands of East Atlantic, Mediterranean, Macaronesia, South Pacific and New Zealand. Spectacular feeding schooling circuits on Formigas pinnacles of Azores, sometimes thousands strong. One of the signatures of Azorean diving.
