Description

Microstomus kitt reaches 65 cm. Flatfish (Pleuronectidae) Northeast temperate boreal Atlantic with right-eyed flat red-brown body marbled with irregular dark and light patterns. Lives from 10 to 200 m on sand, rocky bottoms and coastal zones of Norway, UK, North Sea, Bay of Biscay. Highly prized commercial and sport fishery (lemon sole, delicate flesh). Accessible wide-angle photo subject of temperate boreal dives. Cousin of common sole but more rounded.
