Description

Gobius bucchichi reaches 13 cm. Small Mediterranean goby with elongated cream-beige body with diffuse brown punctations and pointed black spot on dorsal. Very particular: lives commensally with sea anemone Anemonia viridis (already in base), immune to its stinging cnidocysts like tropical clownfish. Lives from 1 to 25 m on seagrass and sandy bottoms of Mediterranean. Sought-after macro photo subject for unique symbiosis with Mediterranean anemone. Discovered in 1870s.
