Description

Elacatinus randalli reaches 4 cm. Small Caribbean cleaner goby with black body and two longitudinal bright golden-yellow bands starting from snout. Lives from 5 to 53 m on coral reefs, barrel sponges (Xestospongia muta) and tube sponges of Caribbean. Accessory cleaner but also feeds on small invertebrates. Differentiated from E. oceanops by yellow instead of blue bands. Accessible macro photo subject of Bonaire, Curacao, Belize dives.
