Description

Cheilinus fasciatus reaches 25-40 cm. Bright orange-red body with very distinct white or pale blue vertical bands. Predator of mollusks and crustaceans. Indo-Pacific at 2-35 m. Slow and majestic swimming. Highly visible due to captivating colors. Solitary or pair behavior. Highly appreciated by underwater photographers.
