Description

Cheilinus chlorourus reaches 35-60 cm. Uniform blue-green body with contrasting fins. One of largest labrid inhabiting reefs. Powerful predator of mollusks, crustaceans and small fish. Indo-Pacific at 2-40 m. Highly visible and recognizable. Slow but powerful swimming. Solitary behavior. Very impressive for divers.
