Postelsia palmaeformis reaches 3 m. Highly specialized California kelp, unique fan-like palm morphology. Main stipe with erect lateral fronds (resembles palm leaves). Highly turbulent California intertidal zone. Least threatened = LC. Unique morphology for adaptation to California coastal turbulence.
