Description

Flabellina affinis is a nudibranch of 2 to 5 cm, translucent pink-to-purple body covered in long tapered cerata of the same color with pale tips. Lives on hydroid colonies it feeds upon. Very common on Mediterranean drop-offs in spring. Lays egg masses in white rosette shapes attached to hydroids. Emblematic macro photography subject.
