Description

Aidablennius sphynx reaches 8 cm. Small Mediterranean blenny distinctive for its supraciliary (eyebrow) crest in prominent ridge above eyes (hence sphynx), brown-green body with highly contrasting yellow-orange oblique bands on flanks. Bright yellow eyes. Lives from 0 to 5 m on coastal rocks and shallow tidepools of Mediterranean. Highly territorial. Predator of small invertebrates. Spectacular macro photo subject of very shallow Med dives for vivid colors.
