Description
Centropyge acanthops atteint 8 cm. Très petit ange nain (Centropyge) distribution principale Océan Indien ouest (Kenya, Mozambique, Afrique du Sud), vagrant parfois en Atlantique est tropical (Cap-Vert). Corps bleu-violet profond avec dos et queue entierement jaune-orange vif (d'ou Flameback African pygmy angelfish). Males terminaux plus colores. Vit de 3 à 40 m sur récifs rocheux riches en abris. Hermaphrodite protogyne. Cousin africain des Centropyge iconiques: C. bicolor Indo-Pacifique (batch 11). Sujet photo macro iconique des plongées Afrique du Sud notamment.
