Luzonichthys waitei reaches 8 cm. Small anthias (Serranidae, Anthiadinae) Indo-Pacific with thin pink-purple body with golden-yellow back. Lives in dense schools from 15 to 50 m above deep coral drop-offs of central and western Indo-Pacific. Similar behavior to classic Pseudanthias but smaller. Protogynous hermaphrodite. Wide-angle photo subject for cloud-schools above pinnacles, iconic visual complements of Pacific dives.
