Description

Colossal whale (1200-1800 cm) massive black without dorsal fin. White callosities on head. North Atlantic migrant (0-300 m) Gulf St. Lawrence to Caribbean. Slow copepod filter-feeder. Conservation: critically endangered, ~300 individuals remaining. Diving: exceptional maximum protection.
