Description

Acanthurus blochii reaches 48 cm. Light gray surgeonfish with strongly contrasting black head. Important schools. Habitat: deep fringing reefs, 8-60 m depth. Passive herbivore. Less observable than other Acanthurus but regular in deep diving. Indo-Pacific tropical reefs. LC (IUCN).
