Description

Small hammerhead (50-150 cm) grey-brown with white belly. Characteristic flattened head but less extreme than other Sphyrna. Shallow coastal benthic habitat (1-80 m) West Atlantic, Mediterranean, tropical Pacific. Often gregarious near bottom. Small fish benthic predator. Conservation: vulnerable. Diving: good introductory hammerhead candidate.
