Description

Sepia pharaonis reaches 60 cm. Cuttlefish (Cephalopoda) Red Sea and Indo-Pacific. Chocolate-beige brown, highly mobile chromatophores. Solitary benthic, coastal sandy-muddy bottoms. Nocturnal crustacean-fish predator. Camouflages very quickly. Seasonal: more visible during breeding. Coastal reefs 5-100 m. No threats = LC. Less known to travelers than S. latimanus.
