Description

Periclimenes scriptus reaches 2 cm. Very small shrimp (Palaemonidae) Mediterranean with transparent body with fine longitudinal white lines on abdomen (hence scriptus, written). Lives commensally with anemones (mainly Anemonia viridis), gorgonians and soft corals of Mediterranean. Discreet and hard to spot. Lives from 5 to 50 m on rocky reefs of Mediterranean. More discreet than P. amethysteus but common. Macro photo subject for Periclimenes purists.
