Description

Naso brevirostris reaches 60 cm. Elongated grey-brown to purple body, small protruding horn on the forehead of adults (shorter than in N. unicornis). Elongated stylet-like caudal tips in mature males. Forms schools feeding on zooplankton in midwater above Indo-Pacific drop-offs, switching from uniform blue to striped patterns in rapid mood changes.
