Spectacular ray (60-200 cm) grey-brown with blue and yellow ocelli in checkerboard. Venomous tail. Reef and sandy habitat (1-50 m) Indo-Pacific. Slow bottom forager. Benthic predator. Conservation: vulnerable, fishing pressure. Diving: highly photographed, relatively docile.
