Description
Canthidermis maculata reaches 60 cm. Triggerfish (Balistidae) pantropical cosmopolitan. Gray-blue dorsal, scattered white-yellow spots, yellow fins. Active pelagic, seasonal oceanic migrant. Ichthyophage-planktonophage. Little threatened = LC. Occasionally observed open-ocean Pacific diving. Little-known local ecology.
