Description

Thericium vulgatum (formerly Cerithium vulgatum) is a gastropod of 3 to 6 cm with a pointed conical 10 to 12-whorled shell. Variable color: beige, brown, pink. Detritivore, moves slowly over sandy bottoms and in Posidonia seagrass meadows. Its empty shells are frequently used by hermit crabs. Very common from 0 to 30 m.
