Description

Leptogorgia sarmentosa reaches 60 cm. Gorgonian with thin long flexible branches, variable color: yellow, orange, red. Unlike the large gorgonians of deep coralligenous habitats, tolerates more sediment-rich waters and shallower depths, from 10 m. Common in the Mediterranean and nearby Atlantic down to 200 m. Occasionally hosts seahorses and small shrimps.
