Description

Heterodontus quoyi reaches 1.2 m. Hornshark (Heterodontidae) West-South Pacific & Indo-Pacific East. Gray-brown, pointed anterior dorsal spines. Oviparous, embryo in horny capsule. Benthic nocturnal, sandy-rocky bottoms 5-100 m. Little threatened = LC. Primitive morph (living fossil). Rarely observed by divers even deep water.
