Description

Heteractis magnifica reaches 1 m diameter. Large anemone with numerous cylindrical tentacles with bulbous tips (verrucae), spectacular colors: purple, magenta, fluo-green, pink, white, red tentacles depending on individuals and populations. Fleshy foot often very colorful (blue, orange, red). Lives from 1 to 50 m on coral reefs of entire Indo-Pacific. Listed LC. Host of 12 Amphiprion/Premnas species, the most permissive: A. ocellaris, A. perideraion, A. clarkii, A. akindynos, etc. Emblematic photo subject of clown-anemone symbiosis.
