Corythoichthys flavofasciatus reaches 12 cm. Pipefish (Syngnathidae) Indo-Pacific with extremely elongated thin cream-white body with multiple yellow-orange vertical bands and distinctive fine red-brown reticulations. Lives in pairs from 1 to 30 m on sand, rubble and corals of entire Indo-Pacific (Red Sea to central Pacific). Male gestation (like all Syngnathidae). Cousin of seahorses and other pipefish. Classic macro photo subject of coral and muck dives. Faithful pair reputation.
