Description

Berthella martensi reaches 8 cm. Opisthobranch mollusk (Pleurobranchidae) Indo-Pacific with stocky yellow-beige to orange-brown body with small reduced internal shell (Pleurobranchidae characteristic, distinct from shellless nudibranchs). Lives from 3 to 30 m on rocky and coral reefs of Indo-Pacific. Nocturnal, predator of colonial ascidians. Discreet macro photo subject, more accessible than tiny sacoglossans.
