Description

Atriolum robustum reaches 6 cm in colony. Small colonial ascidian (Didemnidae) Indo-Pacific with body in spherical to oval formations yellow-green to olive-green with common siphons at top, smooth to finely granular surface. Lives from 3 to 25 m on central and western Pacific coral reefs. Forms small colonies attached to corals or rocky substrates. Macro dive photo subject for Indo-Pacific ascidian enthusiasts, less photographed than Polycarpa and Didemnum.
